2 designers guess at the iPhone 5's look with gorgeous renders
By Natalia V
What's the iPhone 5 going to look like? We don't know, and neither do designers Michal Bonikowski or Antoine Brieux. That's not stopping them from taking a whack at it, however, as both of them are envisioning the iPhone 5 design in images that look like they could be Apple press photos.
First up, Bonikowski's iPhone 5 plays it safe, returning to the pioneering handheld's roots with an aluminum back and steel fame. It's still thin like the iPhone 4, but its predecessor's flat back has been replaced with a slight, curving bulge.
This design is almost a challenge to Apple, which went in a similar design direction with the aluminum-bodied iPad 2. Will the company go big with an iPhone 5 design? After all the griping over the iPhone 4's antenna issues, etc, can the company afford to be a little wild?
The iPhone 5 as envisioned by Brieux is more of a departure, evolving the more boxy look of the iPhone 4. Instead of appearing rounded from the front and flat from the side, it now has a rounded profile with a flat face.
BlackBerry Bold 9900 won’t launch until September
By Natalia VBlackBerry fans will just have to keep waiting for the company’s latest and greatest handset. We have confirmed with multiple sources that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 won’t be launching until September globally.
While an announcement at BlackBerry World was inevitable, it still hurts to see RIM struggle to get devices out the door swiftly. RIM announced that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 would be available in the “summer” from carrier’s globally when the product was unveiled at BlackBerry World.
P.S. We have heard RIM might have one more major OS release in the cards, possibly BlackBerry OS 7.5, before the launch of QNX on smartphones.
MySpace has been sold, to an advertising network called Specific Media,&Justin Timberlake for a mere $35 million.
By Natalia V
CEO Mike Jones will be leaving the company, and it seems that so will a good portion of the staff.
Says Jones in an email: “In conjunction with the deal, we are conducting a series of restructuring initiatives, including a significant reduction in our workforce. I will assist Specific with the transition over the next two months before departing my role as MySpace CEO.”
News Corp. declared it was ready to sell MySpace in an earnings call in February. The media company was reportedly hoping to get $100 million out of the sale.
In 2005, News Corp. bought the site for $580 million from its original owners, but MySpace’s traffic has plummeted in recent years. All Things Digital reported that News Corp. will still hold a 5% to 10% stake in the company.
Other reports this week indicated that close to 50% of the site’s staff could be cut after the sale, and it’s likely that any further iterations of the service will focus on music.

By Natalia VVertu, a name synonymous with elegance, style and perfection in designer mobile handsets has introduced its latest range, named ‘Constellation’. Handcrafted by designer Joe Cameron, this handset combines the designing elements of aeronautics and motorsport, along with the perfection of craftsmanship, which is closely with the luxury brand.
For upwardly mobile technology connoisseurs Vertu brings in
characteristics which symbolize the art associated with Vertu
phones, such the Sea of sapphire on the keypad and screen, which
are individually polished and fitted by expert engineers. Each
key is crafted individually from sapphire crystal, bringing in
the unique shape and appeal to the face of the phone. The casing
has been made from carbon
fiber and set of precious metals such as titanium, to bring in
durability and an overall perfect finish to the structure. The
leather which adorns the back casing and the significant portion
of the front panel has been handcrafted into a synchronicity of
patterns which remains blemish-free and largely unrivalled, yet
doesn’t affect the reception capabilities of the handset. If the
other materials used already weren’t enough, ceramics have been
used on the handset to give comfort of use, with the
characteristic ‘V-shaped’ ear-pad on the top end of the phone,
blending in uniquely to the overall design.
