By Natalia VThe IKEA Concept began when Ingvar Kamprad, an entrepreneur from the Småland province in southern Sweden, had an innovative idea. In Småland, although the soil is thin and poor, the people have a reputation for working hard, living frugally and making the most out of limited resources. So when Ingvar started his furniture business in the late 1940s, he applied the lessons he learned in Småland to the home furnishings market. Ingvar's innovative idea was to offer home furnishing products of good function and design at prices much lower than competitors by using simple cost-cutting solutions that did not affect the quality of products. Ingvar used every opportunity to reduce costs, and he scraped and saved in every way possible - except on ideas and quality. This is how the IKEA Concept began.

By Natalia VVertu, a name synonymous with elegance, style and perfection in designer mobile handsets has introduced its latest range, named ‘Constellation’. Handcrafted by designer Joe Cameron, this handset combines the designing elements of aeronautics and motorsport, along with the perfection of craftsmanship, which is closely with the luxury brand.
For upwardly mobile technology connoisseurs Vertu brings in
characteristics which symbolize the art associated with Vertu
phones, such the Sea of sapphire on the keypad and screen, which
are individually polished and fitted by expert engineers. Each
key is crafted individually from sapphire crystal, bringing in
the unique shape and appeal to the face of the phone. The casing
has been made from carbon
fiber and set of precious metals such as titanium, to bring in
durability and an overall perfect finish to the structure. The
leather which adorns the back casing and the significant portion
of the front panel has been handcrafted into a synchronicity of
patterns which remains blemish-free and largely unrivalled, yet
doesn’t affect the reception capabilities of the handset. If the
other materials used already weren’t enough, ceramics have been
used on the handset to give comfort of use, with the
characteristic ‘V-shaped’ ear-pad on the top end of the phone,
blending in uniquely to the overall design.

By Natalia VWatchmaker Bell & Ross, known for their watch-making techniques and durability of their timepieces, have introduced a limited edition watch meant to raise funds for the charity event, Only Watches. This event is the only charity event known, where exclusively watches are auctioned for raising funds. This particular event is for the cause of raising funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy treatment.
The watchmaker’s main highlight of the show will be the limited
edition timepiece called BR01, which has
been made out of pink gold.
Dedicated to the game of roulette, the watch will have a dial
resembling the roulette tables of a casino. The markings on the
outside shall convey the hours, where as the small roulette ball
at the center of the dial shall convey the minutes. For checking on the seconds, one
has to look toward the center of the wheel, which will rotate to
the rhythm of the seconds. To add to the
durability factor of the timepiece, the casing shall be available
with a special carbon finish.
The other uniqueness in design is the distinct rectangular shape within which the mini roulette wheel dial has been fixed, adding an appeal very different from any other watch. The water resistance of this limited edition timepiece is stated to be up to 100 meters. One wouldn’t impose an opinion, but getting used to the design would need some study of the timepiece itself. After all, not every watch has a roulette wheel as its dial!

China and America may never fully understand each other, but bridging that gap are certain commonalities, like our positions as economic superpowers, and never cheating at sports, ever. For a restaurant bridging the gap on its own, hit Walle.

This blend of diligence and style is a unique collaboration planned to be launched on the opening day of Milan fashion week and also be showcased at the Geneva International Auto Show starting from March 3rd to 13th, 2011, at a dedicated Gucci pop-up store within the Fiat stand. The car is manufactured in two basic colors, black and white, with satin chrome detailing and ivory & black interiors for a softer, sophisticated look which are never off fashion.

The hubcaps feature interlocking GG in the same color of body of the car and a cursive Gucci signature appears on the hatchback as well on the doorpost. Equipped with 1.4 of 100 horsepower, the car comes with rear break calipers in Gucci green. The doorline of the car is striped with green and red color which runs along the entire perimeter and links the exterior to the interior. The stripes also emerge within on the seats, on the gear shift, the key-cover, the carpets and in an innovative finish on the seatbelts. The interior is very intricately done and every detail like embroidery, materials, glossy and satin chromes, velvet varnish on the dashboard is perfectly designed.
